Vegan Ingenuity is a nonprofit organization that creates innovative ways to help people
go vegan. Last year, founder, best-selling author, and vegan educator Tracye McQuirter,
MPH, launched 10,000 Black Vegan Women — an online initiative to help 10,000 black
women go vegan to help change the health paradigm of black women for good. More
than 15,000 women, and counting, have signed up for the program. This year, we’re
building on the growth experienced in 2020 and expanding our efforts on a much larger

PART-TIME CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANT POSITION OVERVIEW:

The part-time Certified Public Accountant (CPA) must be licensed in the District of Columbia and be an
expert in accounting/bookkeeping and local nonprofit and small business (for-profit) tax
law. This is a remote position, however, the ideal candidate will be based in the DC
metropolitan area and can commute easily to our offices, as needed.

At the direction of the CEO, this position is responsible for reconciling accounts and preparing monthly
preliminary financial statements. Responsibilities include monitoring, tracking,
reconciliation, and billing for contracts, and ensuring compliance with federal, state and
local government, and sponsor/funder regulations and policies. The incumbent will
assist with the setup of QuickBooks and automated payroll, and provide consulting for
strategic financial planning, as needed. In addition to primarily supporting Vegan
Ingenuity, this position will also provide support for By Any Greens Necessary, our
for-profit organization.
Essential Duties:
● Responsible for month-end closing and balance sheet reconciliations, including
monthly bank reconciliations, accounts receivable, accounts payable, prepaid
expenses, accrued expenses, and fixed assets
● Monitor, track, reconcile, and bill for all the organization’s contracts with
government agencies, foundations, and other funding sources
● Responsible for monthly and year-end closing journal entries
● Prepare monthly and yearly financial statements for organization as well as
individual programs/contracts
● Communicate with program managers, directors, and partner organizations to
get the information necessary to process month-end and year-end closeouts
● Assist in producing organization’s periodic reports as well as requested reports
by program managers, directors, and partner organizations
● Implement procedures and systems necessary to maintain proper records and to
afford adequate accounting controls and services
● Assist in development of the annual budget, working either directly or indirectly
with the Vegan Ingenuity leadership and program managers
● Responsible for uploading overall Board approved budgets and updates in the
accounting system
● Assist in coordinating expenditures with forecasted cash flow and developing
realistic and appropriate indirect rates to ensure full cost recovery of all indirect
expenses
● Serves as backup to the payroll function for reviewing bi-weekly payroll, 941
reconciliation, and in processing payroll
● Other duties, as assigned
Requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree (Required)
● CPA, licensed in the District of Columbia (Required)
● Five years of relevant experience (Required)
● Knowledge of DC tax law for both nonprofit and for-profit businesses (Required)
● Advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and accounting software applications
● Experience reviewing a high volume of invoices
● Strong organizational and time management skills, and attention to detail
● Successful track record of working collaboratively with internal and external
stakeholders
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills
● Comfortable working in a fast-paced, nonprofit environment, with the ability to
multitask, prioritize, and execute projects at a high level

PART-TIME SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER POSITION OVERVIEW:

We’re looking for an experienced, passionate, and creative part-time, remote
Social Media Manager to join our team. This individual is an avid social media user and
understands the latest trends and best practices used by successful brands and
influencers. Commitment to start will be 5-10 hours per week.
As a Social Media Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing
our social media strategy to increase our online presence and improve our marketing
and sales efforts. Working closely with all members of our team, you will expand our
brand vision to audiences and grow our vibrant community across all our social media
platforms.
The incumbent will be a creative, outgoing communicator and collaborator, with a
passion for using social media as a vehicle for advancing issues and ideas, building
relationships, and inspiring conversation.
Essential Duties:
● Create and consistently post best in class social content that stems from a deep
understanding of our brand identity, target audience, and mission
● Develop, implement and manage our social media strategy to ensure content
aligns with communications objectives, and that brand voice and visual style are
maintained across all platforms
● Facilitate community engagement to support positive brand conversations and
ensure comments and questions are answered in a timely manner
● Provide regular, in depth, and analytical reviews of all social platforms for KPIs
such as engagement, trends, and product feedback. Use learnings to drive future
content development and communications strategy recommendations
● Consistently brainstorm and help generate ideas and campaigns to drive
engagement
● Research popular social trends and content ideas to improve social presence
and drive the conversation forward
● Measure the success of every social media campaign
● Stay up to date with the latest social media best practices and technologies
● Work with copywriters and designers to ensure content is informative and
appealing, according to brand objectives
● Edit video content for Instagram TV and other video platforms
● Monitor SEO and user engagement, and suggest content optimization
● Adhere to platform rules and regulations

Requirements:
● Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Social Media Manager (Required)
● Experience developing social media content, including original photo, illustration,
and video content, with aims toward rapidly growing targeted social audience
● Excellent knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tik Tok, LinkedIn,
Pinterest, and other social media best practices
● Ability to edit video in all formats for social platforms
● Expert knowledge of marketing and design tools such as Buffer and Canva
● Good understanding of SEO and web traffic metrics
● Good understanding of social media KPIs
● Familiarity with web design and publishing
● Strong organizational and time management skills, and attention to detail
● Successful track record of working collaboratively with internal and external
stakeholders
● Great interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills
● Commitment to Vegan Ingenuity’s mission and improving the health of black
women
● Familiarity with the lived experiences of black women
