Check out “Eating Healthy for an Active Lifestyle: Good Food for Thought,” my latest nutrition column for the Healthy You Now web site, which posted today. 

In the article, I encourage folks to think out-of-the-box when it comes to eating healthy food to fuel an active lifestyle.  Specifically, the importance of eating more greens and whole grains for sustainable energy.  My recipe for “All Hail the Kale Salad” is in there, too.

I think it is great that you want us to “think out of the box” when it comes to eating healthier food. Well, I did something different today as I have not ever ate kale before. I have been browsing this site and decided to put kale in my diet today. I made a smoothie with 3 cups of kale, a banana, half an apple and few ice cubes. Oh my goodness, I have never seen food so green. It was quite a site, but I drank about 12 oz . I am feeling quite good right now. Is it possible to feel so good after the first drank. I am smiling and everything. LOL… I feel so satisfied…best “drink” I have ever had. Just wanted to let you know that I “drunk out the box” today. Thanks for introducing me to kale. I will keep this kale around.
