Thanks to everyone who came out for our 23rd annual We Feed Our People (WFOP) event today, sharing warm food and clothing to homeless people in honor of the work of Martin Luther King, Jr. The weather was beautiful and so were the people!
Special thanks to Dawn Moncrief of A Well Fed World who read my earlier blog post and donated nearly $500 worth of vegan food prepared by Everlasting Life and Soul Vegetarian, two vegan restaurants in DC. Thanks to this connection, Everlasting Life wants to contribute food to WFOP every year.
DC Mayor Adrian Fenty and my councilperson Harry Thomas came out again this year to kick off the event. Also, we were interviewed by reporter Sam Ford of ABC 7, the same reporter who interviewed us at the first WFOP event 23 years ago. Check out the clip here.
